Banded Shades Filter the Lights in Loxahatchee

When our customer in Loxahatchee, Florida was searching for the perfect shade, they thought of all the possibilities. They wanted a shade that would give them privacy when they needed it, but would also bring in light and provide a view outside without having to raise the entire shade. All arrows pointed to the banded shade, also known as a zebra shade.

A banded shade can do it all, including dimming out the light in a closed position if you choose a light dimming fabric. This customer decided to go with the Serene fabric by Alta, a Hunter Douglas subsidiary company. In the closed position, Serene darkens the room. Some customers choose to go with light filtering fabrics in living areas and light dimming fabrics in bedrooms. Others choose to do an entire house in light filtering or light dimming. These customers wanted to do their entire house in light dimming. They still get plenty of light when the bands are in the open position, but it gives them the option to darken the room. Light filtering fabrics still allow light through the band, although most light filtering fabrics still maintain privacy when closed.

We installed 17 banded shades in total, including the windows and sliding glass doors in five bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, an office, a game room and a garage. The shades ranged from 3-feet to 8-feet in width, and 5-feet to 8-feet in height. All of the shades were equipped with a PowerWand, which replaces a manual chain and allows the customer to operate the shades with motorization. The shades were ordered and installed in three weeks. The customer received a limited lifetime warranty on every shade and our 1-year in-home service warranty on the labor.

The banded shade is one of our most popular products for a variety of reasons. It allows light, privacy and a view. It also comes in a variety of control options from manual corded, to PowerWand motorization, remote/app-controlled automation and a new cordless manual control. It was the perfect option for our customers that wanted it all for their entire house.
